This policy explains what personal data Launchealo, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY] ("Launchealo", "we"), collects, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the platform. We apply data-protection principles aligned with the GDPR to every user, wherever you are.
In short: we collect only what we need for you to discover and publish launches, we do not sell your data, and you can access it or request its deletion at any time by emailing hola@launchealo.com.

What data we collect
Account and profile
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. You optionally add a bio and a public username, and we store your role on the platform.
Authentication data
To keep you signed in we securely store the access tokens and session identifiers provided by Google sign-in. We never see or store your Google password.
Content you publish
We store the launches, products, and startups you publish or claim (name, description, tagline, links, logo, country, social handles, and tags), along with your votes and comments. This content is public by design.
Claim requests
When you claim a listing we collect your name, email, company name, website, and the message you send us to validate the request.
Newsletter and digest
If you subscribe to our digest we store your email, your preferred language, and your subscription status.
Usage and device
We use first-party analytics to understand which features are used and to improve the product: pages viewed, the referring page, an anonymous session and device identifier stored in the ll_aid cookie, and basic technical data (browser type and approximate region derived from your IP). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
How we use your data
We process your data for the following purposes and legal bases:
- Providing the platform and your account — performance of a contract.
- Displaying public listings, votes, and comments — your own submission and legitimate interest.
- Sending the digest you subscribed to — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Measuring and improving the product with privacy-respecting analytics — legitimate interest.
- Moderating content, preventing abuse, and keeping the platform safe — legitimate interest and legal obligation.
- Responding to your messages and claim requests — performance of a contract and legitimate interest.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with trusted providers who process it on our behalf and under contract:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth).
- Cloudflare R2 — hosting of the images and files you upload.
- Resend — delivery of the digest and transactional emails.
- Our database and infrastructure providers — to store and serve the platform.
We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect people's rights and safety.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside your country. When that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
We keep your account data and content while your account is active. Public content may remain visible until you delete it or close your account. Analytics events are kept for a limited period and subscription emails until you unsubscribe. We delete or anonymize data we no longer need.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and equivalent laws you can exercise these rights:
- Access your data and obtain a copy.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Erase your data (right to be forgotten).
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.
To exercise any right, email us at hola@launchealo.com and we respond within the timeframe required by law (generally 30 days). Every digest email also includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Security
We apply technical and organizational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls, and secure token storage. No system is 100% secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.
Children
The platform is not directed at children under 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe a child sent us data, contact us to remove it.
Public content
Launches, comments, votes, and profiles are public and may be indexed by search engines. Do not post sensitive information you do not want to be visible.
Third-party links
Listings link to external sites we do not control. Data processing on those sites is governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post changes on this page and update the last-updated date; if the changes are material, we will notify you through the platform or by email.
